About LIFEbeat
LIFEbeat—The Music Industry Fights AIDS is dedicated to reaching America's youth with the message of HIV/AIDS prevention. LIFEbeat mobilizes the talents and resources of the music industry to raise awareness and to provide support to the HIV+ community.
In 1992, respected music manager Bob Caviano placed a full-page ad in Billboard, publicly disclosing his HIV+ status and taking the music industry to task for failing to create a unified response to the epidemic. A group of music executives heeded his call and LIFEbeat was born. Ever since, we've been working with the music industry to prevent further infections and to serve those already living with the virus.
